Your First Visit — Step by Step
We know starting care with a new clinic can feel uncertain. Our goal is to make your first visit informative, comfortable, and productive. Here’s exactly what will happen:
- Intake & Health History — You’ll complete a brief intake form covering your chief complaint, medical history, and goals. This helps Dr. Finn understand your situation before the exam.
- Initial Assessment — Dr. Finn conducts a thorough examination including posture analysis, range-of-motion testing, and orthopedic/neurological testing. Digital X-rays may be taken on-site if indicated.
- Report of Findings — Dr. Finn explains what he found in plain language, what is causing your symptoms, and what treatment options are available. No pressure — you decide what’s right for you.
- First Treatment — Most patients receive their first treatment during the initial visit. This may include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, or a referral to Dr. Camilleri or Monika based on your needs.
Save time at your first visit. Download and complete your new patient intake forms before you arrive — bring the completed forms with you to your appointment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in Ontario?
No. Chiropractors are primary contact providers in Ontario — book directly without seeing your family doctor first.
How long does the first visit take?
Your initial appointment is typically 45–60 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually 20–30 minutes.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing or athletic wear is ideal. We can provide a gown if needed.
Will I be adjusted on my first visit?
In most cases, yes — if it’s safe and appropriate. Dr. Finn’s assessment determines what treatment is right for you that day.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic is one of the safest forms of healthcare for musculoskeletal conditions. A full screening is conducted before any treatment.
Does it hurt?
Most patients find adjustments comfortable or relieving. Some mild soreness can occur after the first visit — similar to a new workout — and typically resolves within 24 hours.
