How Chiropractic Care can help
A concussion is a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that is caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. As a result one may experience symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, headache, difficulty with concentration and emotional changes.
Recent media attention has placed an emphasis on concussion and concussion symptoms as they relate to sports, hockey and football most notably. However concussions can occur during most any sport not just collision sports as well as simple falls and motor vehicle accidents.
How can chiropractic help to relieve concussion pain?
One of the most important aspects of recovering from a concussion is knowing you had one in the first place. Dr. Finn and the Your Pickering Chiropractor team have experience in the assessment and management of concussion related symptoms.
Signs and symptoms generally show up soon after the injury. However, you may not know how serious the injury is at first and some symptoms may not show up for hours or days. For example, in the first few minutes you or your child might be a little confused or a bit dazed, but an hour later you or your child might not be able to remember how he or she got hurt.
You should continue to check for signs of concussion right after the injury and a few days after the injury. If your child or teen’s concussion signs or symptoms get worse, you should take him or her to the emergency department right away.

Before Dr. Finn I've never been to a chiropractor before. I was in a car accident and went to physiotherapy for months and came out still in pain. I started seeing Dr. Finn for my shoulder injury and for the 1st time in over a year I started feeling relief. He's one of the nicest Dr's I've ever encountered and I refer everyone there as soon as I get an opportunity. Even if I haven't been there in a while, I get a call checking up on me. AMAZING AMAZING DR.
